Male Japanese traditional Kimonos are basically tied by two kinds of Obis: 角帯 (Kaku-Obi) is one of the two kinds. Since Kimonos are categorized by its fabric and the way it is tailored, buyers need to know what kind of fabrics are being used for the entire kimono and its accessories. 正絹 (Sho-ken) is one of four fabrics meaning silk.

Today’s Interesting Point in the Kimono Culture:

Although distinguishing between 正絹 or not sounds like enough when you buy kimonos—as I wrote earlier— Kimono is also distinguished by how a kimono is tailored. For example, 紬 (Tsumugi) and お召 (Omeshi) are both 絹織物 (Kinu-Ori-Mono,) silk kimonos; however not only does the way of tailoring make differences in the  two kinds of kimonos, but situations where these kimono can be worn are different from each other as well.

How to use iTunes Wi-Fi Snyc (Windows 7)

I spent 3 hours of research on the Internet and finally found a clue that solves to setup the WiFi sync function of iTunes on Windows 7 with AVG anti-virus software. Today, I just want to share what my setting is and my situation.

Situation:

First of all, I surely set up to turn-on Wi-Fi sync on each iPhone, iPod touch, and iTunes, and basically what I should be supposed to do is to open iTunes and turn on iPhone and iPod touch. That should be all.

However, Wi-Fi sync never succeeded, and iTunes never shows my iPhone and iPod touch on its screen even though both are in a same network.

I once turned off Firewall on AVG anti-virus software, and reboot iTunes itself; then, iPhone and iPod touch correctly appear on iTunes.

In my case, Firewall is the key to solve this series of problem on the Wi-Fi sync.

How To:

  1. Open the setting window of AVG security, and the firewall setting from tool menu.
  2. Choose your current security profile from “profile” section on “Firewall Setting.”
  3. Choose “System service,” and open “User System Rule Manager.”
  4. Choose “add” and create a following new rule:
    • UDP
    • In-n-/Out
    • Remote and Local port: 5353; 9753; 3702
    • All network
  5. Save setting, and reboot iTunes to see what’s going to happen

I personally have no idea what 9753 and 3702 port work for. The 5353 port is listed as Multicast DNS (MDNS) at iTunes help page, but the other two ports are found on support community and blog post.

Although all suggesting posts say that the direction is “out,” and local port isn’t a matter for Wi-Fi setting, in my case, it does matter. I tested all possible settings, and the above setting is the only setting that enable Wi-Fi sync on my Windows 7.

BTW, if you are using Windows Firewall function, then this post isn’t a solution since I switched to Windows firewall to see the Wi-Fi sync works or not, and it does work properly without any additional setting.

Bright - Bad Girl !! feat. Sky-Hi (AAA) (by Alan Lin)

BRIGHT is a Japanese female Dance/Vocalists group since 2003. They debuted first as a different group name, which I didn’t know, but I have been one of their listeners since they debuted as BRIGHT.

First of all, I personally really like this song though I had quited listening to their songs since BRIGHT debuted through the current major recording label. That’s simply because I believe that their songs in the label have been less attractive comparing to songs that they had released before joining to the current major label.

Before their debut, they performed songs in front of train stations, which are one of major ways for semi-professional singers in Japan. I watched their performance on TV, and I was like “Wow. Their chorus is gorgeous; moreover, they can dance, too.”

I believe that they have strong advantages but have had less opportunities to have songs that feature their strength. I hope this number today will become the key for their future fame. :)
